Creating a video game requires a lot of programming therefore there are plenty of career options.  Game programmers write the computer code that powers game engines, determines character artificial intelligence, game physics, user interface, special effects and much more.  The video game industry could not exist without programmers.  It is essential that anyone seeking a career as a game programmer possesses no less than a bachelor’s degree from a respected game design college in Game Programming or Computer Science.  Salaries for game programmers start at around $50,000 and rise as high as $110,000 annually for well experienced programmers.
